Individual Therapy
The reasons people come to therapy are vast and unique. Many people seek counseling when they are going through a difficult time; others recognize unhealthy patterns they want to change, would like to gain greater self-awareness, or learn new skills. You don't have to be in crisis to seek out therapy; perhaps you simply want to feel more joy, more self-confidence, feel more grounded, or more present in your life.
My Philosophy
I am committed to a collaborative, genuine, and supportive relationship where we can address the issues that keep you stuck or repeat themselves in your life. I believe in the power of resilience and people's courage and tenacity during difficult times. I believe our differences (including "mental illness") provide unique and valuable perspectives for the world, but they can also create intense internal or external challenges. I utilize a strength-based, person-centered, culturally sensitive, and humanistic approach and tailor my therapy to your unique needs. I work to help you maximize your strengths and address these challenges by identifying skills and strategies to help you thrive.
My Style and Modalities
During our therapy sessions, I will take time to get to know you and the challenges that have brought you to therapy. Then we will formulate goals and outcomes you would like to see, and identify specific skills or strategies to create meaningful change in your life.
My therapeutic work often draws from the theories and techniques of:
-
Solution-Focused
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
